PNBA 2012 Book Awards
We're so excited by today's announcement of the winners of the 2012 Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association Book Awards -- what a terrific list of books from northwest authors!!! These winning titles were selected by the association's Book Awards Committee: nine booksellers representing bookstores from throughout the northwest. The committee started with nearly 300 nominated titles written by northwest authors and published in 2011, carved it down to a short list in November, and then made the tough decisions to come up with the six final selections.
Northwest Book Lovers, a website dedicated to promoting our region's authors and independent bookstores, wil be publishing original essays from the winning authors each week, starting Wednesday, January 11.
This is a great list of books -- dig in, if you haven't already!!! Our congratulations to all of the authors and publishers of these fine books, but special congratulations to Lidia Yuknavitch and Hawthorne Books -- not only a Portland author but also a Portland publisher. Well done!
